Most styles of yoga practised in the West are ‘Yang’, involving active contracting and relaxing of the muscles. However to strengthen the less mobile ‘Yin’ tissues, such as connective tissue, bones, ligaments and fascia, we need a different approach. In Yin Yoga we work these deeper areas of the body by relaxing into postures and then holding for 3 minutes or more.Combining both Yin and Yang styles of yoga will truly transform your practice. Expect to leave the session feeling wonderfully open and deeply relaxed. 3 months experience of any yoga style recommended.
