FREE Yoga For Carers

Barefoot has a non-profit arm (Barefoot Wellbeing CIC, Co. No. 09740242), enabling us to help those groups who may not ordinarily have much access to Yoga.

We offer free Yoga for family carers registered with Birmingham Carers Hub, both online and in person at our studios. A Carers 10-Class Yoga pass gives you access to any of our regular Harborne classes (beginners to experienced), 7 days a week. Carers can also access community classes in Mere Green on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings, and in Boldmere on Tuesday mornings / evenings and on Friday mornings.

These services are brought to you in partnership with Birmingham Carers Hub. Register with this friendly not-for-profit support service online in a matter of minutes. You don’t need to be a full-time Carer, or be in receipt of Carer benefits, to take up these opportunities to re-charge and to start feeling good. Once you’ve registered with the Hub sign-up for free Yoga below!

Carer Life-Spa

Are you a looking after an elderly, frail, sick or disabled relative or friend in Birmingham?
In need of some me-time?

Carer Life-Spa is a free programme of in-person and virtual relaxation sessions.

LAST THURSDAY OF MONTH
09.45am – 12 noon Harborne Studio

2024:  25 Jan / 29 Feb / 28 Mar / 25 Apr

Monthly on Thursdays, in-person or join us on Zoom. Book via our Harborne timetable (you’ll need to create a Barefoot Birmingham account first) or find us on Eventbrite.

Our Thursday sessions are hosted by Kam Bola, life-coach and yoga teacher – and a Carer herself. She’ll lead you through a wonderful mindful movement session to open up the body and release tension. There’s also a period of deep rest / guided meditation to totally relax the mind.

Everything is very informal and you don’t need to stay for the whole two hours. The second part of the morning is all about tea, chat and laughter.

Sometimes we’ll have a guest speaker or therapist come and share their wellbeing tips. Some weeks it might be head & shoulder massage. You probably will want to stay…

  • No experience of mindfulness or movement is required, just an open mind and an intention to relax.
  • You’ll finish the sessions feeling deliciously calm, clear and re-charged for the day ahead.
  • You may like to bring your own yoga mat if you have on.
