We are confident that the physiotherapy services provided by our friendly, expert and innovative physiotherapists, with their unmatched experience, and reputation for finding for successful resolutions for our clients, makes the Harborne Physiotherapy and Acupuncture Clinic the very best you will find.

We Are Different
PHYSIO
We treat lots of musculoskeletal issues, from lower back pain, sciatica, neck pain, knees, frozen shoulders and plantar faciitis. Our Physios teach nationally and internationally and our reputation is second to none.

SPORTS INJURIES
Professional athletes, weekend warriors and plenty of folk in between have seen the benefits of working with our specialized sports physios. We work with those erstwhile dodgy knees and get our clients back on track… Dare we mention our contribution to a certain squad of ‘surprise’ Premier League Champion footballers last season…!

WOMEN’S HEALTH, PHYSIO, PREGNANCY & POST NATAL
Fiona Mitchell is internationally renowned for her groundbreaking work on physiotherapy for women’s health. We are so proud of her work and there is not a physiotherapy clinic in the whole of the west midlands to offer anything like Fiona’s expertise. Our Barefoot based Women’s Health Clinic helps with the following:
Pelvic girdle pain ante and post-natally
Can make a big difference post-natally to your tummy gap (rectus diastasis)
Can help you return to sport post natally
Works with female athletes who may have a pelvic problem i.e. triathlete, cross fit, runner
Assess and treat urinary incontinence (urinary leak) successfully
Assess and treat a pelvic organ prolapse
See patients with bowel problems maybe post surgery, post-natally
See very complex patients who have pelvic pain and have been through a lot of investigations for this
See very complex patients who have been referred for pain on sexual or sexual related problems.

We also offer the ‘Mummy MOT’ – a 6 week physio led check focusing on:
Tummy gap
Pelvic floor function
Pelvic and low back check
Posture
Breathing

Simply put, with her hard work, innovation and dedication, Fiona changes lives. (See our website or our womens health blog)

MEN’S HEALTH
In the Men’s Health Physiotherapy Clinic at Barefoot we see a lot of men who have had surgery for prostate cancer and have developed some of the common post op problems such as urinary incontinence. We also treat men post surgery for pelvic pain and some who have developed erectile dysfunction.

Richard Think Psychology logo

‘Dr. Richard Bennett, Clinical Psychologist and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.’

I have over 20 years’ experience of working with people experiencing emotional distress and a range of mental health difficulties. I use a range of evidence-based talking therapies to help people gain the skills to support themselves at times when they are struggling with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

I like to adopt a collaborative approach with people I work with, in order to determine whether a talking therapy, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), might be helpful, and if so, what values and goals are important for the person to fulfill.
My sessions at Barefoot Birmingham are available in person on a 1:1 basis. If you would like to discuss your situation to see if a talking therapy would help, please feel free to contact me using the details below. I will happily offer a preferential rate to people who are existing clients of Barefoot Birmingham.
