Yin and Yang Yoga workshop at Barefoot Birmingham

Come join Gosia Federowicz for a complete yoga immersion – experience strength and lightness, relaxation and energy, masculine and feminine, yin and yang.

We will begin with a calming Yin Yoga practice to soothe body and mind, followed by an invigorating dynamic Vinyasa Flow sequence to build stamina and strength. The final part of the workshop will be Yoga Nidra or the ‘ultimate relaxation’.

During Yin Yoga practice we learn to stay in a pose for 3 to 5 minutes or longer, cultivating inner peace and training the mind and body to become calm and endure distraction, both physical and mental.The postures are held for longer to allow the connective tissue to relax and stretch. Yin especially works into the lower spine and pelvis and can be very helpful for back issues.

The Yin Yoga sequence will provide you with tools to take home to relax after a busy day. Expect lots of emphasis on breath and relaxation to leave you completely rejuvenated and recharged. The second part of the workshop, the dynamic Yang Yoga, will involve getting active and strong with a cleansing, heat-building Vinyasa sequence.
